The Ancient Faith Writing and Podcasting Conference is a professional development and fellowship opportunity for Orthodox Christians who want to enrich their creative work or break into a new media field. The Conference is open to published and unpublished attendees. If you want to be here, we want you to be here!

The Conference will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to network and collaborate with well-known Orthodox authors, podcasters, editors, and publishers, and to gain inside perspective on the Orthodox media world. Guests will enjoy time for fellowship in a beautiful and peaceful environment. Community building and spiritual refreshment are important goals of this gathering.

The Conference is committed to mentoring the upcoming generation of Orthodox writers and podcasters! College students are warmly welcomed.

PROGRAM: Here's the amazing list of speakers for this conference!

Keynote- Frederica Mathewes-Green: Can You Be All Things to All People and Still Be Yourself?

Deacon Nicholas Kotar: Culture Creation for a Post-Christian America.

Fr. Stephen Freeman: Orthodoxy and Shame.

Brian G. Phipps on Make It Beautiful: The Art of Editing Your Own Writing.

Angela Doll Carlson: Voices in the Wilderness: Writing Beauty for the Digital Age.

Panel- Fr. Andrew Damick, Angela Doll Carlson, and Dr. Nicole Roccas: From the Page to the Podcast.

Dr. Nicole Roccas: Spice Up Your Podcast Life!

Fr. Theodore Paraskevopoulos: Re-Catechism Preaching to the Older Brother.

Dr. Gary Jenkins: Deliver us from Gnostic Cannibals!: Engaging our Orthodox High School and College Students in Print, Podcasts, and the Classroom.

J.R.R. Tolkien Panel: Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick, Steven Christoforou, Michael Haldas, Dn. Nicholas Kotar, and Dr. Gary Jenkins.

MEET WITH STAFF: AFR station manager Bobby Maddex, AFP editorial director Katherine Hyde, and AFP children's book editor Jane G. Meyer will all be at the conference and look forward to visiting with you about your work.

SHARED ROOMS: The Conference staff are NOT able to make arrangments for you to share a room with another guest, but we encourage you to bring a spouse or a friend or two. Please note that if, for example, you have 2 people in a room, you purchase ONE "Private room, two people" ticket, which provides for one full private room with at least two beds and meals for two. Note that only ONE of you can pay for the ticket on Eventbrite. There are no split tickets. Please decide between you who will make the purchase and the other can reimburse the payer for half the amount.

AIRPORT: Most guests traveling to Antiochian Village by air choose to fly into the Pittsburgh International Airport. The Conference Center is approximately 2 hours from this airport, and a chartered bus is available to those who register in advance. (The Latrobe Airport is closer to Antiochian Village, but also smaller, and Spirit is the only carrier.) The cost of using the bus from PIA is $95 per person round trip for groups of 5 or more, and YOU MUST RESERVE A SEAT IN ADVANCE. PLEASE CONSIDER SHUTTLE TIMES BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR AIRLINE TICKET. There are only TWO shuttles on Thursday and TWO on Saturday: a 2 PM shuttle and a 5 PM shuttle on Thursday, and 10 AM shuttle and a 12 NOON shuttle on Saturday. Flights must be arranged accordingly. If you are not able to use one of these shuttles, you will need to make your own arrangements. Bus tickets for individuals, not groups, cost twice as much and must be booked directly, not via Antiochian Village. Allison Taylor at Antiochian Village will be coordinating the shuttle service. If you wish to book your ride to and from PIA, send an email to Allison at events@antiochianvillage.org. Include your flight itinerary, the shuttle time you need each way, your cell phone number, and be sure your email states that you are coming to the Ancient Faith Writing and Podcasting Conference. Allison will book all seats with the bus company, and you will pay your fare at the front desk when you check in to Antiochian Village. NOTE: Antiochian Village reserves the right to adjust final shuttle times once all itineraries are received.
