Incite Seminars

About ARC:This group began as a reading circle for classic and contemporary anarchist theory. We have been meeting consistently (weekly) since January 2020 and even helped to <a href="https://warblerpress.com/an-anarchists-manifesto/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">birth a book</a>. Our membership and interests have shifted organically + anarchically over time (see our meeting record from 2021 below!) and continue to evolve, but the spirit of our joint pursuit persists. Together with help of texts as our guides (both famous and feral), we discuss questions such as:<ul><li>How can we organize our activity and society for personal and collective well-being?</li><li>How can we subvert, resist, and unsubscribe from systems like wage slavery, the nuclear family, white supremacy, credentialism that have captured us as agents of their reproduction? </li><li>What are the postures of post-capitalism? </li><li>How can we imagine and prefigure a world rooted in leisure, conviviality, and restorative justice? </li></ul>Our style of reading is anarchic, inconstant, and inclusive. We play with texts, dance around them, challenge them zealously, turn them into compost, become intoxicated by them. We often read parts of the text out loud during our meetings and value diverse ways of knowing and relating to the material. New members and curious travelers are always welcome! No prior knowledge is expected, only willingness to wrestle with the ideas. Incite Seminars members and regular participants have access to a private community forum on our member space dedicated to the group.
