An Embodied Protest NYC

Jazmine Russell is a mental health advocate and trauma survivor dedicated to radical wellness. After obtaining a degree in Applied Psychology from NYU Steinhardt, she began working as a home-based crisis counselor in New York City. Currently, she works as a peer specialist for Parachute NYC, providing support to individuals and groups by utilizing the Open Dialogue Approach, Intentional Peer Support, Need-Adapted Treatment, and Trauma-Informed care. In addition, Jazmine has been mentored in intuitive development, holistic medicine, and embodiment techniques for the last 7 years, practicing deep emotional processing in her own life while supporting others in their integration process. She has also studied various movement and meditation practices at Osho Ashram in India. Jazmine dedicates her time to holistic, self-determined care, mutual aid and community-building practices, education,activism, and finding new ways to shed light on social justice issues and transformative models of care. She has been invited to present her work at The Ultra Laboratory, Bluestockings, and  NYU to name a few, and co-founded The Institute for the Development of Human Arts, which offers advanced training in holistic, democratic, and transformative mental health practices.

Join us for an evening of compassion, power, and breakthrough as we uncover deeper aspects of ourselves, and holistically process our experiences within a supportive community. Beginning with Osho’s Dynamic Meditation, we will kick, scream, shout, jump, laugh, and let go of everything that keeps us stuck or blocked. Then, we will gather for a dialogue and share our collective wisdom. Finally, we will integrate our learning through movement and dance to remain present and embodied. Together, we can develop new ways of understanding what it means to heal, thrive, and stay wild.  
All bodies are wholeheartedly welcome. The workshop will be movement oriented, and we will attempt to accommodate various needs upon request. Participation throughout the workshop is welcomed but not required. Silence, stillness, and rest is always accepted.  Sliding Scale Exchange: $25-$65 Registration prior to the workshop is required to hold your spot. Please arrive a few minutes early as doors will close at 6:45 sharp.
