Workers at the Amy’s Bread factory in Queens are organizing for improved working conditions and respect on the job. Mostly immigrants of color with years of experience, Amy&#x27;s Bread employees work hard to supply NYC’s leading restaurants, cafes, and grocery chains. Yet, every time workers make progress on a Workplace Justice Agreement, Amy walks away from the table. Enough is enough. Join Amy&#x27;s Bread workers on Thursday, January 23 to tell Amy’s Bread: respect worker organizing and come back to the table NOW!RSVP today to receive the phone number and talking points to call on Thursday, January 23rd.Why are workers organizing? Amy&#x27;s Bread is paying many workers minimum wage or close to it despite years of experience. Amy&#x27;s Bread workers can&#x27;t count on cost of living increases. Poor organization of production by management, chronic understaffing, and delays in fixing equipment are interfering with workers’ craft and causing extreme frustration.In 2013, workers had enough with economic insecurity and unresponsive management. They began organizing with Brandworkers and over the years have won important gains including wage increases, improved health care, and a non-retaliation pledge.Unfortunately, in the final stretch of negotiating a workplace justice agreement, management chose to walk away. Amy’s Bread is now waging an anti-organizing campaign in an attempt to create fear and roll back progress.With your support, workers will win. Instead of allowing the company to continue to degrade these jobs, workers have committed to fight on until owner Amy Scherber accepts a workplace justice agreement including consistent raises and respect for worker voice.
