Amtrak Kids & Trains Bakersfield to Hanford-Heartland Charter School

Calling all train fans! Learn about the San Joaquin Railroad on this exciting trip to Hanford. Attendants will learn about locomotives and experience one first hand! We will get to explore the quaint and adorable town of Hanford for approximately 2 hours. There are many things to do!

If you'd like to pack a picnic lunch there is a large grassy area at the town square. There are also a few restaurants in the area if you choose to purchase food there.

• Tickets for children ages 3+ and chaperones are $19.00

We encourage you to submit a work sample highlighting what your student learned from this field trip during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these opportunities.

Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will attend with another family, please let the field trip host know once you complete your registration.

Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher, who planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you.* Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*

May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket and one chaperone ticket with your student's planning amount. T here are two steps to purchase tickets for field trips with your student's planning amount.

Step 1. Reserve your ticket on Eventbrite. Please select the "Student ticket ordered through Procurify" and or "Chaperone ticket ordered through Procurify" ticket options in Eventbrite. Complete the checkout process on Eventbrite. You will receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite once your order is complete. This is the first step in reserving your tickets. Immediately after you receive confirmation from Eventbrite, you will move to step 2.

Step 2. Place an order for your tickets in Procurify. Search the name of this field trip in the Procurify catalog and complete your order just like you would for any other order. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify. Failure to place an order in Procurify within three days will result in being removed from the attendee list and having your funds manually deducted.

Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome. Only two chaperones per family are allowed due to limited space on this field trip. Everyone attending a field trip or event must be registered through Eventbrite. This applies to babies, toddlers, siblings, and adults. Individuals who have not registered will be asked to leave.

What are the check-in procedures? Check in at Amtrak Train station at 7:30am.

Is there on-site parking available? Free parking.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, food may also be available for purchase on the train.
