IN PERSON | Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation – Elkins ParkSaturday, March 21, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PMSunday, March 22, 2026 from 8:15 AM to 4:30 PMAudience: PT, OT, PTA, COTAContact Hours: 14.25| CEUs: 1.425Level: Introductory with some intermediate content.AMPUTATION A to Z -- LIVE TRAINING FOR OT &amp; PT:<ul><li>Integrate medical &amp; technological advances with evidence-based therapy practices.</li><li>Provide comprehensive pre &amp; post-prosthetic care in the home and inpatient and outpatient settings.</li><li>Promote community participation by addressing gait, adaptive equipment, and environment.</li><li>Design individualized Plan of Care for pre‑prosthetic and prosthetic phases and link interventions to ADLs.</li></ul>This introductory two-day training provides occupational and physical therapists with a unique in-depth understanding of the FULL CONTINUUM OF CARE FOR AMPUTEES —from surgical intervention through community re-entry. The course highlights evidence-based interventions to optimize mobility and functional independence. Faculty are Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation’s team of amputation care experts.Participants will advance clinical competencies through immersive, in-person learning that integrates didactic instruction, hands-on lab sessions with live patient demonstrations, instructor feedback and peer collaboration.Guided by real patient case analyses, the course emphasizes critical thinking in decision-making and treatment planning across all phases of amputation rehab. Appropriate for both clinicians new to amputation rehab and experienced practitioners seeking advanced clinical refinement, this training will enhance participants’ confidence, competence, and effectiveness within multi-disciplinary teams.Objectives:1. Discuss current advancements in technology and medical/surgical management of an individual following amputation2. Describe the essential components of pre-prosthetic &amp; prosthetic care in home care, inpatient, and outpatient care.3. Compare and understand the management of the residual for skin care, edema management, and incision/wound care.4. Select appropriate therapeutic interventions and development of POC for both pre-prosthetic and prosthetic patients5. Examine prosthetic gait &amp; fit issues in a patient undergoing prosthetic training to enhance participation in home and community.6. Create a personalized intervention plan to address gait deviations and deficits.7. Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation will reimburse you the cost of the registration, if we have to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or an emergency situation. We are not responsible for any other costs associated with attending a conference. If you are on the waiting list of a course and do not get in, we will not charge your credit card; if you paid by check we will send the check back to you. In the event that a course is rescheduled we will provide you the option of applying the tuition towards the rescheduled course in lieu of a full refund.Complaint policy: Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation views complaints as an opportunity to improve.
