Description

**This event is for America Makes Members Only!**

In 2016, more than 425 business leaders, engineers, professors, students, and innovators came together to review the incredible advancements that the U.S. additive manufacturing industry is accomplishing through the America Makes portfolio of research and development (R&D) projects.

This year we invite you to join us at the America Makes Technical Review & Exchange (TRX) on March 14-16, 2017 on the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) campus, where America Makes members will continue to share their R&D plans, progress, and results with project kickoffs, technical updates, and closeout briefings.

Four of five Technical Roadmap swim lanes will be represented by 23 projects with over 100 organizational collaborators. The format of TRX is structured to be flexible and conversational to encourage more organic interaction and learning throughout each of these presentations.

All America Makes members are welcome to attend TRX. However, since the material presented will be structured for a highly technical audience, we encourage members to send their more technically-inclined individuals.

WHAT IS TRX?

TRX is more technically focused with content being shared at a more in-depth level than what the PRMM agenda allows. Additionally, the TRX presentation format is intended to be flexible and conversational in its structure to permit more organic interaction throughout each presentation. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions during a presentation to gain a deeper understanding of the research underway rather than holding all questions until the conclusion of a presentation. All TRX presenters have prepared their presentations to allow for this increased level of engagement.

DIGITAL STOREFRONT UNVEILING

The America Makes Team is excited to unveil the culmination of our efforts over the past 10 months with Platinum members’ Deloitte and Siemens. The group has focused their efforts on defining a Data Management Solution that allows users to more easily consume the information and have visibility as to how the data is connected. Also, the user will be able to see a live version of the Technology Development Roadmap. This solution has been named the America Makes Digital Storefront and we look forward to you discovering its possibilities.

KECK CENTER OPEN HOUSE

UTEP’s Keck Center features a 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the art facility with more than 50 additive manufacturing machines. The lab showcases a unique blend of additive manufacturing equipment and facilities to perform fundamental research, allowing for trailblazing discoveries to be made in limitless arenas of science including 3-D printed electronics, airplanes and satellite components, human augmentation, biomedical implants, and future energy systems.

For those members interested in learning more about the Keck Center, two separate open houses have been scheduled for the following times:

Wednesday, March 15, 5:00 - 6:30 pm
Thursday, March 16, 1:30 - 3:00 pm

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

All America Makes members are welcome to attend TRX. America Makes encourages our members to send more technically inclined individuals to TRX as we have structured the content to be presented and shared at the event to speak to this audience.
