The role of the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) in ELC and SAC Services in Ireland is central to ensuring that child safeguarding policies and procedures are followed and that concerns about the safety or welfare of a child are reported promptly to Tusla.
Tusla Always Children First: Designated Liaison Person Training is designed to support DLPs/DDLPs to fully understand their role and responsibilities. This role specific training builds on the information provided in Always Children First: Foundation Training that participants will have previously attended.
Tusla Always Children First: DLP Training is comprised of two parts:
· Tusla DLP elearning Module (Part A)
· Tusla Always Children First: DLP – 3.5-hour, face to face Training Workshop (Part B)
Participants must ensure to complete the DLP eLearning module within 2 weeks, prior to attending the face to face workshop. Completion of the elearning module will significantly enhance your understanding of the information provided during face-to-face training.
In the initial phase of this programme only one DLP per service can access the face-to-face training.
