White Horse Bar is the oldest operating gay bar in the U.S.! This 7-day a week operation is recently under new ownership, boasting state of the art sound and lighting equipment as well as a generous bar, parklet, and a billiards table! This historic queer hub is an absolute must visit for travellers and locals alike!

Hot Stuff Studios is a Queer, femme-owned business that was founded by Oakland-based creatives and couple, Trin + Dru Alexander-Cowan. Hot Stuff Studios is here to provide uniquely empowering art classes and workshops to any company, organization, or group that needs a little creative inspiration to keep a balanced lifestyle. We understand that creativity is a vital component to everyone's quality of life, and it's also one that many find hard to tap into. We offer experiences that encourage guests to break free from their day-to-day mold and create outside the box. Having organized over 100 creative and craft based workshops for public and private clientele we are excited to announce this exciting new event series!

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Nope! This experience is all-inclusive and comes with everything you'll need to create a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Is there an age limit?

Yes, 21+. All guests will be carded upon entry into the venue. To book an all ages paint night at another venue, please email Trin at hotstuffstudios.eb@gmail.com

Are drinks included in the admission price?

Solo and Couples' admission DO NOT include beverages. However, V.I.P. Admission package includes drink tickets.

Is this venue ADA accessible?

Yes! Venue's entrance, our painting area, and bathrooms are all wheelchair and ADA accessible. Please reach out to Trin (hotstuffstudios.eb@gmail.com) with any questions about you may have about mobility or accommodation in the space.

Will there be food?

No, there will not be food served at the event. However, you are welcome to bring outside food into the bar. We also encourage guests to explore the MANY diverse food options available in the U.S.A.'s foodie capital, Oakland! The Temescal neighborhood is filled with trendy dining options!

Is the venue accessible by public transit?

Yes! White Horse Bar is conveniently located along AC Transit lines and is also nearby both the Macarthur and Ashby BART stations.

Is there designated parking?

The venue does not have a designated lot but there is ample street parking available. Before 6PM there is a meter and after 6PM parking is free. Please plan accordingly and do not leave valuables in your vehicle!

Are masks required for entry?

Masking is not enforced in this space. However, free masks will be available for those who would like to mask during the event. Do not come to the event if you are sick or have recently been sick.

Refunds available?

We cannot honor refunds for this event. If a ticket was purchased and you or your party are no longer able to attend, please reach out to Trin (hotstuffstudios.eb@gmail.com) to request a full or partial credit toward your next event with us.

We’re a Queer femme owned boutique and community space showcasing amazing small businesses + artists from the Bay and beyond.

We started as an accessory line, You Are Hot Stuff, but recently expanded to showcasing other artists and holding space for Queer creatives in the East Bay. We host a regular lineup of workshops and events to support creatives.
