Karen Hillman is a mixed media artist and award-winning photographer. She describes her work as “Vintage Finery” as her art pieces encompass using forgotten items from eras of the past, and reinventing them into extraordinary treasures. Her style is romantic and ethereal and some of her favorite works are her angels, fairies, and one-of-a-kind religious pieces. Karen’s art studio is located within her charming storybook home located in Frederick, Maryland. Fondly called, “The Cozy Castle”,  she hosts her unique classes and retreats at The Cozy Castle, around the country and abroad.

The Design Loft

<p>It is the perfect time to create a unique piece for note-taking or journaling for the upcoming new year.  You will be provided with the notebook, and you will have available to you papers, buttons, ribbons, flowers, bling, and more to complete your notebook or journal. If you choose and work fast, you may also bring another notebook or two to embellish and pay $10 extra per notebook using the Design Loft's embellishments. We will also enjoy snacks and a champagne toast as we create to the sounds of the soundtrack from the beautiful movie, The Notebook.</p>
