THIS IS PART TWO: We will be using different basic colors today, to find a whole new palette and color mixing. These are the ones used in printing, and they are related to the colors of light. You'll get the list of colors paint to have on hand on an email.
Here is the description as for part 1:
This is a class that will be divided into four parts at least. Color is such a big subject to learn, so I prefer we do some theory and a part of practical activities, for you to learn to mix colors and try to find the ones that you need in the future, with practise of course.
We'll be working with the most basic colors, with them you can open a wide range of variety of hues, tones, shades, tints, etc. We will start with the most commonly used and well known color wheel used byt painters. Later we will study the colours of light (white and RGB) and the pigments, used for printing, and the relationships between all these. We'll see what the primary, secondary and tertiary colors are. Do we really know them? We will try to analize different types of color wheels we can find, and as I said above, we´ll try to make the mixes to get all the possible variety. After the first two workshops, we will start to apply all we have learnt in different exercises by preparing the colors we need and then, painting. We'll try these on some still life, an animal, a portrait, and/or a human figure.

Think that in these first two classes there will be too much theory, explained with images on the screen and me making mixes on my camera that you can also try at the same time. On the third and fourth classes we will be applying all we learned and practised on an actual painting.

WAYS TO DRAW and Paint are a series of art classes online, especially for beginners and anyone who wants to learn different ways of drawing and painting, since there isn't only one, as there isn't only one way to do things in life. In each class we will also be experimenting with different media: (i.e. graphite, colored pencils , pastels, charcoal, ball and fountain pens, markers, gouache, acrylics, etc.)
