What should I wear?

Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing is recommended. Don't wear your fancy new white sneakers as this is a working farm and you'll be strolling in pasture and on dirt roads.

What kinds of pigs do you raise?

Most of our pigs are Mulefoot but you'll also see some cross-breeds.

Is it possible to raise pigs in a small yard?

When we got our first two piglets in 2011 we had a small fenced in area in our backyard. Now we have multiple pig paddocks and a farrowing barn. Fred will show you lots of options. You'll leave here eager to have pigs of your own!

Can kids come?

Of course. All ages are welcome but guests under 16 must be with a parent or guardian. Only the adults need to buy tickets.

Question 5

Will the farm store be open?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the farm store is open every Friday 3-6pm and you're welcome to shop for our beef, pork, lamb, and chicken. If you wish to shop before the tour we are happy to keep your purchases in the freezer until you  leave. The fishing pond is also open all day (sun up to sun down) and is included.

What's included in my ticket price?

The instructional tour led by Fred Falcone plus a chance to feed treats (probably apples or pumpkins) to the pigs. Participants will also be offered a free month of access to thereadypantry.com which is our online membership group about home cooking, homesteading, and preparedness.
