Algorithms Workshop

​We firmly believe that encouragement and early education in STEM is an ideal platform to develop a girl’s communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical-thinking abilities, which are important in building an informed and balanced society.  These abilities can help girls -whether or not they pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math– acquire skills to confront real-world problems, examine issues, and apply knowledge to search for solutions.​All Girls STEM Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, strives to inspire and excite girls to begin to pursue STEM, through various free events and workshops that involve STEM projects in a fun and hands-on environment.

Have you ever wondered how social media finds your friends so fast based on a username, or how Spotify picks your next favorite song? Or how Maps returns a list of the closest Starbucks when you’re craving a drink? Behind the scenes are all algorithms - clever instructions that solve problems step by step. If you’re interested in learning the building blocks of algorithmic thinking and what makes computers so efficient, join us for our upcoming Algorithms Workshop to dive into classical sequences, searching, and sorting algorithms. No experience needed, just curiosity and an appetite for fun, learning, and snacks!For girls in grades 3-8.
