Join us for the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) Michigan Section's 2024 Environmental Risk Management Workshop June 11-12, 2024, at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center in Roscommon, Michigan.

The Michigan Section is looking forward to hosting this event in person in 2024! We provide high quality technical training that focuses on practical application and case studies for environmental professionals. We bring together a broad base of topic expertise and perspectives from the consulting, regulatory, academic, and industry sectors. This unique workshop forum promotes collaboration and partnership to solve complex environmental problems in a peer-to-peer learning format.

In 2024, we are focusing on the pivotal role of data in decision-making processes related to environmental contamination, public safety threats, remediation strategies, and site closures. High-quality data collection, rigorous quality assurance/quality control (QA/ QC), and effective management of big data sets are imperative in today’s digital age. As technology advances, we have more tools and resources at our disposal than ever before.

The AIPG workshop encourages discussions on innovations in data collection, interpretation, and management. We aim to ex­plore strategic planning for data collection and evaluation, com­bining foundational knowledge with the latest innovations to tackle environmental issues with fresh perspectives.

The public relies on the work we do and the decisions we make every day are critical to their health and safety in the management of risks and prevention of exposure to hazardous substances. This is why this event is important for practitioners in the field of environmental field.
