Have you ever wanted to learn how to create your own type? Or simply know how to use Glyphs?
Come and learn from Tiffany Prater the basics of designing and generating a font with the font-design software Glyphs-Mini (MAC only). In the first hour, learn the basics of drawing a font, generating a font, and previewing it on Adobe InDesign. At the end of the class, you will have a deep appreciation about how fonts are made, and perhaps an addiction to type.
Tiffany Prater is an educator who teaches graphic design and type design at the University of North Georgia.
REQUIRED MATERIALS
- Download a trial version of Glyphs 3 or Glyphs Mini on your MAC (macOS 10.11+, no windows).
LIMITED SEATING ONLY—participants must register through Eventbrite to get the Zoom link. No prior experience is required in font design, but some experience with Bézier-based vector drawing tools is handy. We'll resend the information within the week of the workshop.
