Hi Folks,
Innovation Summit Gathering:
As a launch for the AIER Consortium Initiative, we are planning an Innovation Summit for July 17th of this year. This Innovation Summit will be a conference-style professional development half-day, and be focused on innovative educational practices in schools and school communities.
The event will take place at Spokane Valley High School, 2011 N. Hutchinson Rd. in the Spokane Valley. The cost of the event is $35 per person, which includes a light breakfast and a lunch at the end of the conference. Clock Hours for participation will be available.
Summit Goals:
- Hold creative conversations about school design and re-thinking, with a network of innovative practitioners
- Share resources for strengthening the connection between student learning and their family and local community
- Experience hands-on workshops that model and inspire innovative teaching practices (i.e. project-based learning, alternative/mastery-based assessment, methods for strengthening school culture)
- View student work and listen to student voice
- Discuss problems of practice with other innovative practitioners
