The rapid developments in AI can enable or accelerate major positive impact throughout the world. This semester’s course will be structured as a “Venture Studio” with mentors and engagement with Scientists, VCs, CEOs and Academics. Previous guest speakers included Peter Diamandis, Vinod Khosla, Grace Isaford, Neha Narula, Steve Jurvetson, Paul English, Calvin Chin, Jason Pontin, Bilal Zuberi, and more. This profile and the associated events are related to the AI for Impact: Venture Studio class at the MIT Media Lab. This course focuses on opportunities in the broad sectors of digital health, climate change, and mobility with data and AI-centric technologies such as blockchain, Web3, and privacy-tech, which can enable or accelerate major positive impact throughout the world. Mentors consisting of CEOs, VCs, and academics work with student teams throughout the course. Students develop business plans suitable for real-world impact which are eligible for seed funding dependent on judges' scores from demo day during the final class.
