AI, reproducibility and open science: examples from image processing

Neil Cronin is a Professor of Exercise Biology in Jyväskylä, Finland. He has several research lines, but the common thread running through them is the use of AI methods to solve problems in sport and health domains. Although he works mainly with image processing, his recent work also examines the use of wearables to study human movement, and applications of Generative AI in the medical domain.----------AbstractIn this talk Neil will cover some of the difficulties associated with AI, in particular the so called 'black box' nature of many AI approaches. He will also cover some best practices for training AI models, using different image processing use cases to illustrate the key points.
