About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

In this four-hour video-based, hands-on instructor-led course, you will be taught the basics of adult CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, and how to relieve choking. Upon completion of this course, students will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED course completion card that is valid for two years.

The Heartsaver CPR/AED plus Infant Course teaches the basic techniques of adult, child, and infant CPR and how to give first aid for choking. Students also learn how to use an AED, which has become more important since AEDs are now found in the majority of large public places, and they have been proven to be much more effective than CPR alone.

We recommend this course to those desiring CPR certification applicable to basic medical care for a wide age range, from infant to adult. This course is designed for the general community to obtain CPR skills for emergency situations.

*Note: the AHA Heartsaver CPR AED certification is NOT equivalent to the AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If you need a BLS certification, please sign up for a BLS class instead.

Reserve your spot by purchasing a ticket. Please come 10 minutes early so that we can get started promptly!

If a class appears sold out, it is possible to drop-in on the course. In this case, you should arrive about 15-30 minutes early to the class into which you wish to enroll, inform the instructors that you wish to drop in, and pay up-front in cash for the course ($10 for UCLA undergrads, $20 for anyone else). Extra seats are given in a first-come, first-serve manner to drop-in students. Please visit our frequently asked questions page at uclacpr.weebly.com for more information!
