Welcome to the Aging in Place Conference 2024!
- Breakfast is included
- 3.5 Social Work CEUs will be offered
Community Council of Greater Dallas, The Senior Source and the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) are collaborating to host a conference on the challenges and benefits and gaps associated with aging independently or aging in one’s home. According to the American Advisors Group, in 2023, 92% of older adults surveyed prefer to live out their later years in their current home, while only 10% of homes are ‘aging ready”. And while living at home has its benefits, it can be extremely isolating and even dangerous. This conference will cover important topics such as home safety, services supporting those who want to “age independently” and how to compare living at home vs. moving to a long-term care facility.
If you are a professional* working with older adults, a family member taking care of a loved one or a community member interested in this topic, there is something for all of you!
*3.5 Social Work CEUs will be offered.
