Welcome aboard the first-ever Aging in Community Collaboratory! We believe this collaboratory will become a model for helping communities implement customized plans and programs for aging in community. As the first AIC Collaboratory, you are part of helping us design this model. You are the Beta-testers! The year long program consists of up to two on-site workshops, 4-6 online webinars and follow up technical support for each of six participating communities. We are grateful that you are giving your time. We will be conducting surveys and studying the model as we work through the process with you. We will be publishing the results of our work with you so that others may gain from the results of our efforts. Because we are running this program as a beta test this is many thousands of dollars worth of consulting and implementation time that participants in this first collaboratory will receive for covering basic expenses. Mid Atlantic Cohousing has negotiated this arrangement with Janice Blanchard, Aging Better Together and Aging in Community Network. We feel certain the collaboratory model will provide a way for communities to design programs for people to age better together. We want proof not just anecdotal evidence.
