About this event

    You and your guests will enjoy use of Habitot’s Little Town for two hours. Kids will embrace imagination as they navigate through our fire house, grocery store, and pizza shop!

    There’s even more play and learning with creative activities in our Art Studio and maker projects in our Imagination Station (especially good for older children). A Sweet Stars area just for babies/early walkers features a baby ball pit and a space-themed storytelling felt wall.

    Scheduling your Party

    Birthday party rentals are available Sunday afternoons from 3:00 pm -5:00 pm and exclusively on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Hosts may arrive 1/2 hour earlier to set up and have 1/2 hour after to clean up and exit the space.

    Rental Fees & Requirements

    Birthday Parties are $450 plus a refundable $100 deposit for Sunday afternoons and $475 plus a refundable $100 deposit for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, returned within 3 days if there is no damage at your party. $550/$575 must be paid in advance to hold the date and time. Full refunds are possible up to two weeks before the party; 50% is refundable one week prior. Credit/debit cards only through Eventbrite.

    Host Responsibilities

    Hosts are responsible for exiting their guests promptly at 5:00 pm or 8:00 pm and for supporting staff members with any unacceptable guest behavior (e.g., overstaying, drug use, inappropriate alcohol consumption, damaging exhibits, theft, interpersonal conflicts).

    Families bring their own party goods and decorations, nut-free food, and beverages. NOTE: no balloons except Mylar and only removable tape on walls.

    Hosts may provide alcohol with a homeowner’s policy coverage and sign an agreement to manage consumption behavior for Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

    Clean-up: Hosts will remove their decorations, food, and gifts and put all waste paper products, plastic ware, wrapping paper, and discarded food in garbage bags (provided by Habitot) by 5:30/8:30 pm.

    Adult guests are expected to supervise children at all times during parties.


    What Habitot Provides

    We provide two on-site staff members to assist you, greet your guests, and maintain the Space Station Experience, Art Studio, and Imagination Station during the party. We have a locked room where hosts can store non-perishable items in advance of their party. Two 6' tables are available for your use, as well as small tables for children's seating.

    Clean-up: Habitot covers janitorial care/cleaning after the event.

    Street parking ($3/hr) is often available in the evenings, and there is generous parking availability in the two-story garage right across the street from Habitot’s space ($1.50/hr).

    Habitot Children's Museum is an award-winning, 25-year old discovery museum for 0-5 year olds and their families. Formerly located in Berkeley, Habitot welcomed over 1.5 million visitors between 1998 and 2020 when it closed during the pandemic. Known for its outreach and inclusion programs that welcome the most vulnerable families - homeless famililies, teen parents, foster and adoptive families, formerly incarcerated parents, refugees, Habitot ensures that a broad range of families benefit from Habitot's hands-on exhibits, Art Studio and safe and supportive learning environment. Habitot is currently operating as a mobile museum serving families across the East Bay with with ts pop up Mobile Museum events and temporary installations while seeking a permanent location for reopening.
