About this event

A lot of folks never consider wines from Bordeaux France because they don’t understand them or they think they can’t afford them. At this session you will learn all about wines from the region as well as taste some outstanding examples of affordable wines from the region.

We will start this session with one of my favorites, White Bordeaux. I will be tasting a Clos Floridene, Graves 2020 ($29.99 before discounts at Total Wine). If you can’t find that one you can substitute any White Bordeaux preferably from Graves, and if possible also from 2020. If you want to pair food with this wine try just about any seafood, salad with vinaigrette dressing, veal or chicken with lemon sauce, or goat cheese. This wine should be chilled to about 45 degrees before serving.

We will then sample Château De La Huste Fronsac 2020. ($19.99 before discounts). If you can not find this wine feel free to substitute any wine from Fronsac or Canon Fronsac preferably a 2020. If you would like to pair food try almost any beef dish, BBQ chicken, pork ribs, or aged cheddar. Ideally, this wine should be served at 62-64 degrees (if you don't have a wine fridge pop it in your regular fridge for a half hour or so before serving).

We will end with a Chateau du Retout Haut-Médoc, 2020 ($22.99 at Total Wine before discounts). If you can't find this wine substitute and wine from Haut-Medoc preferably a 2020. If you would like to pair some food with this wine try grilled beef, lamb, beef, or veal with a mushroom sauce, aged gouda. Ideally, this wine should be served at 62-64 degrees (if you don't have a wine fridge pop it in your regular fridge for a half hour or so before serving).

We will have two sessions, one on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 Arizona /Pacific Time ( 9:30 Eastern) and one on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 Eastern (3:30 Arizona/Pacific). Feel free to attend either session or both.
