Advocacy Roundtable

Built Environment Plus, formerly known as USGBC MA, is a membership-based community advocating for green buildings at the state and local level. Built Environment Plus provides green building education, networking, advocacy and leadership opportunities for the sustainable building community and beyond. Our events and programming are supported by the volunteer efforts of our community members.Over 550 people participate as members & active volunteers, and over 14000 people subscribe to our various communication lists. Through our many committees, we address all aspects of the greening of the real estate sector - from planning, design & engineering, construction, management & operation and beyond. We help all practitioners by promoting market transformation. You can join us and be a part of this massive effort to improve the built environment.

Legislation and policy drives our industry, but who drives changes in legislation and law?
Join our Advocacy committee as they interpret, suggest updates to, and advocate for advances in laws and policy related to green buildings. All are welcome to join in this high-level discussion.

<LI><A HREF="http://usgbcma.org/pace-financing" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PACE Clean Energy Financing</A> – we were victorious in attaining PACE for Massachusetts in 2016! Now: how can we bring this new tool to bear on green building projects throughout the Commonwealth?</LI>
<LI><A HREF="http://usgbcma.org/net-zero-energy-buildings" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Net Zero Energy building code</A> – how can we shift the conversation on codes? How can we support municipalities who are leading – like Cambridge with their Net Zero Action Plan?</LI>
<LI><A HREF="http://usgbcma.org/net-metering" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Net Metering Improvements</A> – we were able to engineer reform of net metering in 2016, but we know it was a temporary fix. How do we position our advocacy efforts to ensure we see progress in early 2017?</LI>
