Advancing Coastal Resilience in Oceanside & Across California
Join us to learn how to protect our coastal communities from rising sea levels and extreme weather events at Advancing Coastal Resilience: O
Resilient Cities Catalyst and SOS are pleased to invite you to an exciting event to celebrate the ongoing journey to restore and preserve Oceanside’s beaches and build a sustainable coastal resilience movement.
We will debut Oceanside’s great work in a BBC mini-documentary, part of their Transforming Cities series that explores Oceanside’s effort to address coastal erosion and beach degradation through a unique, community-driven Design Competition that resulted in the RE:BEACH Oceanside Pilot Project, which recently received a $1.8m grant from the California Coastal Commission and was designated SANDAG’s third Resilient Beach Sand Pilot (RBSPIII) project. The RE:BEACH Pilot has made significant progress, but there’s still a long road to completion ahead and RCC, SOS, and the City of Oceanside are working hard to keep up the momentum!
To wrap up the event, SOS and RCC will provide snacks and refreshments for continued celebrations, networking and community building Oceanside community members and others invested in supporting a healthy coastal ecosystem.
