Description

K-20 educators and administrators are invited to our annual Advanced Readiness Institute at the Inn at USC on September 21-22, 2018

We will begin at 4:00PM on Friday afternoon with a reception and a short presentation by Jerry Marshall, professor at Tri-County Technical College, who will share strategies to help students take responsibility for their own learning. Saturday will be a full day of presentations, discussion, and planning, beginning at 9:00AM and ending around 3:00PM. On Saturday morning, Stephanie DiStasio, Director of the Office of Personalized Learning for the SC Department of Education, will present on the SC Personalized Learning Framework and the Profile for the SC Graduate, and Jill Dowdy from Lower Richland High School will discuss how we might implement elements of the Profile into the classroom.

Workshop attendees may stay overnight at the Inn at USC (breakfast is included for Inn guests). A limited number of rooms are available at the Inn at a block rate of $149.00 (plus tax and a $10 parking fee). Please call 803-779-7779 and mention the Center of Excellence to reserve your room.
