DESCRIPTION
This program utilizes AWHONN and ACOG guidelines and current NICHD terminology. Format consists of lecture, case studies, sample tracings and discussion. Program outline: Equipment, Fetal Oxygenation, Acid/Base Interpretation, Uterine Activity, Baseline, Accelerations/Decelerations, Complex Dysrhythmias, Three Tier Categories, Antenatal Testing, Legal Aspects, and Certification Exam Sample Questions. *The National Certification Corporation (NCC) does not sponsor this program.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
- Registered Nurses: Labor and Delivery, Antepartum and Outpatient Perinatal, who have completed Fundamentals and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring courses
- Any hospital care provider utilizing electronic fetal monitoring
- Any professional preparing for the NCC EFM Certification examination
PROGRAM OUTCOME
The participant will be able to apply underlying physiology in interpretation of complex EFM recordings to assist in care management. This program will aid in preparation for successful achievement of EFM certification (if desired) within 3 months of attendance.
This activity is being offered for a total of 7.0 contact hours for nursing.

- Learners sign in on the attendance sheet
- Learner’s attendance and participation in all activities of the program
- Learners submit a completed evaluation form at the conclusion of the program.
