About this event

In this advanced class, you will learn additional techniques and skills that go beyond our basic bowl turning classes. You will explore the various cuts that can be ahieved with the bowl gouge, as well as various grinds and their uses, will be discussed. The class will foucus on the turning of a figured maple platter. Prior bowl turning with traditional tools, or participation in the Sunday 5/17 Bowl Turning class are a necessity.

Are there any age restrictions for this class?

This class requires the use of power tools, which requires the attendee to be 14 years or older. Attendees below 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire class. If a parent or legal guardian is required to attend, only 1 ticket is required.

Do I need any safety equipment or special clothing?

Safety glasses or face shields, hearing protection, gloves, and dust respirators will be provided free of charge as needed. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves should be rolled up, long hair should be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.

I'm interested in a class that is not scheduled, do you offer custom classes based on my interests?
