About this event

  • 7 hours

Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge in adults ages 18 and over.

The MHFA course covers topics such as depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, and substance use disorders. In addition, the course emphasizes the concept of recovery and resiliency, emphasizing that individuals who are experiencing these challenges can and do get better and can use their strengths to remain healthy.

To participate in this session, there are a few steps you'll need to take beforehand:

Register for your MHFA Connect Account. A separate email from the Mental Health First Aid Team will be sent to you to access your MHFA Connect account. (Be sure to check your email, spam mail, or junk mail.) This will allow you to complete evaluations, pre-work requirements, access course materials, and obtain your certificate. Please let me know when you have registered your MHFA Connect account by replying to this email.

Complete all pre-work (# 's 1-9) prior to your scheduled session, which includes a 2-hour self-paced course. Please note that failure to do so will result in you being unenrolled from the course and unable to attend the Instructor-led session. Refunds will not be issued if you are unenrolled due to incomplete pre-work.

All pre-work is due May 21st at 12:00 PM ET.

Please note that this class will be canceled if fewer than five participants are registered.
