-Decompress Time, food, physical activity, or a non-judgemental spot to release all those pent up emotions. Really depends on the kid (or heck, adult, person) and what it takes for their brain to regulate and unplug for a bit

How do I calm my child after they've had a bad day?

First off, listen and give them space. Pay attention to tone and "non-verbal" language. Sometimes they just need someone to listen without fixing. Ask how they want you to help, and they very well may need time to think about that.
