Workshop Taster Session

Come and join us at Royal & Derngate for a practical Improv Workshop Taster Session! This session is free to new visitors and open to all professionally trained and working actors in and around East Midlands.

This 2-hour workshop is for actors to flex their improvisation and performance skills in a supportive studio setting working with other professionals. This is an opportunity to experience a fun and informal session led by one of our Associate Members.

What's involved? The session starts with a brief check-in and a group-led warm-up where participants are encouraged to share their favourite physical and vocal warm-up exercises. The main session will focus on interactive group work with participants as both performers and active audience members. Together, we’ll dive into exercises designed to sharpen your skills in openness, presence and spontaneity. EMAW Workshops are a safe and inspiring space to play, learn and grow - expect to leave feeling invigorated, with new tools to fuel your imagination and enrich your performances!

East Midlands Actors Workshop meet on a regular basis and is a space for professional actors to hone their skills and stay audition-ready. We're an autonomous group that works together on a rotational basis. We deliver a range of varied workshops, where you'll find a safe and nurturing environment to express yourself and grow as a performer.
