U.M.A. has been around since 1994 giving us over 20 years of neighborhood service and experience. Our facility has 5,700 sq. ft of training space and offers the latest in training equipment with programs available for kids, teens and adults. Better put, the whole family.We feature high level and very professional instructors whose main goal is to provide proper training that aligns itself with your overall goals. Be it fitness, self defense or further development of skill and or confidence. We strive to help our members reach and surpass their goals.

It will never happen in the Chicago right? Not in my kids’ school. Not at my office. Not during my concert. And what if it does? Will you be ready?
We are very excited to announce that UMA will be conducting an Active Shooter Workshop, on Wednesday, June 7th from 6.30PM to 9PM. 
Fit to Fight™ founder Ryan Hoover has developed a program primarily designed to impact individual, corporate and campus safety procedures while recognizing the need for realistic training and solutions. These programs consider that many traditional “fixes” may be cost-prohibitive, impractical, politically unpalatable or simply ineffective. 
During the hands-on seminar you will receive instruction and practical application on proven techniques and strategies designed to increase survivability in an active shooter situation. Including combative training, pistol and rifle disarms, solo tackles, team tackles and training drills.
With more than 20 years of experience teaching civilians and law enforcement, we believe everyone is responsible for their own health and safety. Because active shooter situations are often over within 10 to 15 minutes, before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation. Knowing how to react and being able to act in that situation is crucial in saving not only your own life but the lives of those around you.
