Do you have a passion for social action films? Join Action Rayz in this film screen and Q&A

People Like us Festival proudly introduce ACTION RAYZ Coventry.

A group set up by local filmmaker and film connoisseur Alan Van Wijgerden and Jazz Moreton with support from the@ConnectingForGoodCov team. Come and join them and connect with other Coventrians that are just as passionate about #Film #Filmmaking #Documentaries or #SocialAction as Alan is!

This is more than just a group for screening docs, they want to bring people together who have a passion for film, filmmaking and social action.

Once the Covid-19 crisis is over and it is safe for them to do so, they also plan on continuing these screenings in the real world. They want to create meaningful connections across Coventry, around passions, interests, hobbies, third places (your home away from home) and activities. But for now, they will stay online and hopefully YOU will join them...

This weeks film - Jubilee

In a time of quiet needing some diversion Queen Elizabeth the first has a magician in her court conjure a vision of the future via the spirit Ariel. And so a future possible vision of the time of Queen Elizabeth the second appears. Essentially being a documentary of a possible dystopian future. Featuring Jenny Runacre and Toyah Willcox.

Derek Jarman was the foremost LGBTQ+ director of his time. The only one able to write a letter to a major national newspaper and have it published on the front page of the paper. A sad loss to the AIDS epidemic that cut down all too many important figures in their prime.

We'll start watching at 6pm next Tuesday 7th July join using this link: http://tiny.cc/e8durz and the discussion on Zoom will start at 7:40pm.Once you have registerd for a ticket we will email your zoom joining instructions on Tuesday

What is the People Like Us Festival?

Coventry's own creative health festival. Running from Monday 6th - Sunday 12th July 2020

Designed and made for the people by the people. Celebrating the power of arts and creativity.

People Likes Us can come together to create opportunities, to dream, to co-create, to do things, to make things, to think about things, to rebel against things, to change things. But most of all to explore our creativity and connect with new people.

What can we create together that will have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing?
