ACMNP: 7th Annual Women in the Wilderness - Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Welcome to the 7th annual ACMNP Women in the Wilderness!!

Coming this August, we will be hosting our seventh IMPACT trip geared specifically for women. We can't wait to gather ladies from all across the country together for a few intentional days of exploring God's beautiful creation, growing in our own personal leadership capacities, talking about soul care, worshipping in a national park, and volunteering with National Park Service. These few days will be filled with fun, laughter, depth, growth, reflection, and community...trust us, you won't want to miss this!

This year, there will be space for 10 ladies to join us. Please note that we will be staying in shared accommodations and traveling in a van together. We ask that you consider these factors as you determine whether or not to join.

Since we only have 10 spots available, we wanted to get information out as soon as possible for you to reserve your place. Feel free to inquire by reaching out to trip leader, Amy, at akennedy@acmnp.com. If you are ready to commit, go ahead and register here and get your non-refundable $100 deposit down to hold your place. (https://acmnp.com/donate/donate-today/ Please write "Women in the Wilderness deposit" in the comments field).

Details Below:

When? Friday, August 23 from 4:00pm through Monday, August 26 at 10:00am

Where? Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! We will be staying in an AirBnb together near Munising, MI and will be taking trips in and out of the park as well as spending time at the AirBnb.

Transportation: There are three options for transportation. You can drive yourself and meet us at the AirBnb (Wetmore, MI), you can ask to carpool with another participant who may be driving (one confirmed will be coming from Milwaukee, WI), or you can fly into Grand Rapids (GRR) airport and be picked up en route to the AirBnb (5.5 hour drive...the upper peninsula is up there!). There is one regional airport in Marquette called Sawyer International. You're welcome to fly into here as well, but the costs are typically way higher. Before booking your airfare, please be sure to register first, and wait for further instructions. We have specific times you will need to arrive and depart by. If you are interested in driving yourself and meeting us there, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. If you are willing to offer your vehicle as a carpool option, please let us know that as well!

Cost: $375 per person. This includes transportation, fuel, meals, lodging, 2024 ACMNP t-shirt, Lions Lead Leadership Assessment (worth $50+) and entrance into the park. There are two additional options for adventures on Sunday, August 25 in the afternoon.

Optional Add-On #1: Kayak to the famous viewpoints (see page photo for example). This tour involves a 5 mile kayak that takes roughly 2 hours. The entire experience will last 5 hours, as there is a boat that will take participants uplake to make the kayak experience easier. They are tandem kayaks and beginners are welcome. If interested in this option, please submit $168 at time of making deposit so I can secure a reservation for you. You can learn more at www.picturedrockskayaking.com for what this option entails.

Optional Add-On #2: If kayaking isn't your thing, you can register to go on a 2-hour cruise up-lake where you will see a few of the sites that the kayakers will see. This optional add on is $52 and the payment must be submitted when making your $100 registration deposit if you are interested in joining so I can secure your spot. You can learn more about the Spray Falls Tour at picturedrocks.com.

Those who are not interested in either activity will be dropped off to hike and explore the park or are free to wander around town.

If the costs are a concern to you, note that we can facilitate a payment plan ($100 non-refundable deposit due to reserve your spot, as well as any optional add-on, but we can work to make the remaining payments manageable (balance would be $275).

Who? This is open to all women who are interested in growing in their own personal leadership development and networking with other great ladies. Please note that we will have times that require some physical activity, including hiking, and service project opportunities. Additionally, lodging will be in shared accommodations to promote a sense of community and facilitate good conversations. Alumni of the ministry, and non-alum are welcome to join!

We look forward to spending these few days with you!

Amy & the ACMNP team!
