You and your team will solve a problem proposed by Google using technological tools in a 3-day event hosted in the GAIA Makerspace.

GAIA Makerspace - UGLC Room 202

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) will be hosting a multidisciplinary Hackathon at the GAIA Makerspace in UGLC, on Friday, November 30 – Sunday, December 2. This multicultural event will bring together multiple disciplines within the College of Engineering to create solutions to problems affecting the UTEP community. During the 3-day event, participants will be challenged to come up with a creative solution to a problem plaguing student on campus. Resources will be provided for the participants to use to create their solution which include but are not limited to, Raspberry Pies, Arduinos, and 3D printers. Our goal for the Fall 2018 Hackathon is to bring new challenges to the students at UTEP looking to showcase their skills and abilities outside of the classroom. We want to provide opportunities for students to come out of their comfort zone and challenge them to think outside the box. As a community, we want student to be involved in helping create solutions that will benefit everyone on campus.Detailed ScheduleFriday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm (Dinner will be provided)Saturday: 9:00am - 10:00pm (3 meals will be provided)Sunday: 9:00am - 2:00pm (Breakfast will be provided)Important Info<ul><li>All Majors Welcome.</li><li>Participants' Resumes will be sent directly to Google Recruiters.</li><li>Teams can be up to 5 members. </li></ul><ul><li>Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams in the competition:</li></ul><ol><li>1 Google Home Hub per team member.</li><li>1 Google Home Mini, 1 Google Chromecast and $15 credit in VUDU per team member. </li><li>1 Google Home Mini per team member.</li></ol>
