Join ACEL-Tucson for the Asian American and Pacific Islander History Month networking social and mixer, featuring a presentation by Robin Blackwood on building a Chinese community.


Robin Blackwood is a retired attorney with a lifelong interest in Chinese language and culture, graduating from University of California at Berkeley with an A.B. degree in East Asian Studies with an emphasis on Chinese. Robin has organized numerous events for Tucson Chinese Cultural Center over the past fourteen years exploring local Chinese history and culture. She continues to promote the history of the Chinese people of Tucson, most recently with a TCCC project on the Chinese area destroyed in Tucson Urban Renewal in 1968 (in partnership with units of the University of Arizona). Robin is a 2012 recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award of the Asian American Faculty, Staff and Alumni Association of the UA.
