The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier cultural destination and community gathering place in Central Florida, about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. A&H is a group of sophisticated attractions that includes a contemporary art museum, 3 interactive history museums, and a stunning campus recognized as Greater Orlando's only National Historic Landmark. A&H also features a community art school nestled among its beautiful gardens and unique architecture. Founded in 1937 as an artists’ retreat, our space still fulfills this mission today with multiple artist residencies serving both local and international artists. Participants will learn how to create accordion books of their own. You are encourage to bring in your  own drawings to fold into books!

Drawing, bookmaking, printmaking, textiles, & more! No matter your skill level, our expert instructors will guide you to new heights of creative accomplishment with these 1 to 3- day workshops.

Instructor: Ryan Price Cost: $105 + $25 material fees. Materials fees must be paid in cash directly to the instructor, and are due on the day of the workshop.A Book is simply whatever goes between two covers. In this workshop participants will create books from folding paper in certain arrangements. Instructor will demonstrate the different types of accordion folds, and even demonstrate using one of his own drawings by turning it into a book by cutting and folding it. He will also show the variety of types of accordion books and how they can be displayed as sculptural books.Participants will be able to create original accordion books. You are encouraged to bring your own drawings to create folded books or you can create books that are blank inside. Leave with a new approach to book arts and a new book!O﻿pen to all levels!
