Access Programmes Information Evening
Come along to learn all about Access Programmes at University of Galway.
Thinking about going to university but not sure where to start? This information evening is designed for school leavers and mature students who may not have previously had the opportunity to study at third level or who, for a variety of reasons, did not reach their full academic potential.
Our Access Programmes are particularly aimed at individuals from low-income backgrounds and those living with long-term disabilities, as well as anyone who once felt that college was out of reach. This annual event is part of our commitment to ensuring that higher education is accessible to everyone, regardless of background or life circumstances.
These programmes focus not only on academic preparation but also on building confidence, self-belief, and the skills needed to succeed at university and beyond. Participants are supported every step of the way to help them achieve their full potential.
During the evening, representatives and past students from our Access Centre will be available to:
- Provide information on Access and Foundation Programmes
- Explain available supports
- Share personal experiences of returning to education
- Answer questions in a friendly, supportive environment
- Help you explore whether this pathway is right for you
If you have ever considered returning to education — or are supporting someone who is — this event is your opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and take the first step toward a brighter future.
Everyone is welcome.
