Acquire practical industry experience through this free, expert-led training designed to enhance your technical skills.

Registration is open March 30 - April 10, 2026!

Registration is limited to 15 participants and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Course Schedule:

Students will be divided into 3 groups. The itinerary below shows an example of one group's schedule.

Day 1: Begin with a lecture on the principles of mining laboratory tests, followed by a guided laboratory tour and an introductory session on subsampling techniques.

Day 2: Perform water chemistry analysis utilizing ion chromatography (IC) in a laboratory setting.

Day 3: Prepare solutions for Methylene Blue Index testing and perform settling tests.

Day 4: Engage in a hands-on laboratory workshop focused on Methylene Blue Index testing.

Day 5: Conduct tailings dewatering experiments using flocculation and measure yield stress in the lab.

Registration Requirements:

In order to register for the camp, you must:

· have completed your first year (note: if you graduate in April you are still eligible)

· have a WHMIS certificate (or equivalent training) prior to registration

· complete H2S awareness training prior to camp (note: we will provide you H2S training to complete prior to starting the camp)
