Welcome back to the mountains! Come join your fellow travelers in the tall trees and fresh air of the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. Relax! Play while working at your recovery, discover new things about yourself, see old friends and make new ones, or just kick back doing absolutely nothing! Your choice!

We offer smaller gatherings of campers in more outdoor locations, in order to process the current events in our lives. We have planned shorter workshops, with more time between activities and more space to just BE TOGETHER in the beautiful mountains.

Limited Capacity

We are planning for a reduced number of campers, to provide more spacing. The maximum number of campers this year is limited to 88. Each room will have no more than 2-4 persons. In cabins with three bunks in a room, there will be 3 -5 persons in those rooms (Cabin 1 and 3). Please see the cabin layouts, for more details.

HOW TO REGISTER:

Registration is online thru EventBrite! Register now online, then pay by check via U.S. Mail or online using Venmo or Zelle. Registration and cabin assignments are "first-come-first-serve" based on the Venmo or Zelle payment date or postmark date. Registrations made online are not complete or valid until payment is made in full.

Payment Options

  • Pay by mailing check or money order. Make check payable to ACA-OC. Then mail to: FALL MOUNTAIN RETREAT, PO Box 12414 Westminster, CA 92685. If you register AFTER September 30, 2023, no personal checks/money orders accepted. Only Venmo & Zelle will be acepted

Refunds

Registration fees are non-refundable after Oct 01, 2023.

After Oct 02, 2023, a partial refund may be issued at the discretion of the FMR Planning Committee, which in most cases will be approximately half of the registration paid. Contact Madeline M. at fmrchair@gmail.com as soon as possible. Consider the following alternatives to a refund:

  1. Donate your registration fee to the campership fund.
  2. Transfer your registration fee to another person.
  3. Rollover your registration fee to the following year's Fall Mountain Retreat.

Camp de Benneville Pines

Friday Check-In at Homet Lodge

Friday check-in starts at 4:00 pm in Homet Lodge - no earlier. If you arrive earlier, park in the lower parking lot before coming to Homet Lodge at 4:00 pm. Before you receive your room assignment & welcome packet you must show proof of a negative Covid test taken 24 hours prior to arrival at Camp de Benneville Pines. After showing proof of negative Covid test and signing the Liability Waiver you may obtain your cabin/room assignment. After receiving your your cabin/room assignment you may drive (one way) slowly to your cabin to unload your car. You must then, immediately, return your car to the lower parking lot and park facing outward (downhill) to comply with fire regulations of the SB National Forest.

If you arrive after 10:00 pm, you must call & speak to a committee member, a number will be made available to all late arriving campers after registration is completed, before you arrive. You must show proof of a negative Covid test 24 hours prior to arrival, according to Camp de Benneville policy, no one can be admitted without showing proof of a negative Covid Test. This is subject to change and all registered campers will be notified of any changes. There is NO PARKING at cabins, unless you have a handicap placard/plate displayed. Otherwise, temporary parking at cabins is for loading and unloading purposes only.

Important Rules & Guideline

A HANDFUL OF RULES – TAKE NOTE BEFORE COMING TO CAMP:

  • This camp is for adults, age 18 years & older, only.
  • Appropriate and courteous behavior is expected of all campers, at all times.
  • No drugs (including medical marijuana) allowed in camp.
  • No alcohol or weapons allowed in camp.
  • No pets or animals allowed in camp, except trained Service animals, as defined by the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Emotional Support animals not allowed.
  • Swimsuits are a MUST in the hot tub.
  • Appropriate attire must be worn at all times.
  • Do not take photographs of any retreat attendees unless you get their permission first.

Anyone not abiding by the above rules will be asked to leave without refund.

FURTHER CAMP GUIDELINES AND INFO:

  • Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas with ashtrays.
  • PERSONAL FOOD: Do not store food in cabins (except 6 and Craig’s in the refrigerators) or vehicles. You may use the small refrigerators and a dry-storage cabinet in Homet Lodge. Please label your food with your name.
  • Remove any food or food wrappers from your vehicle. The bears can smell it very easily and may attempt to get to it, damaging your vehicle.
  • There is NO PARKING at cabins unless you have a handicap placard/plate displayed. Otherwise, temporary parking at cabins is for loading and unloading purposes only. When parking your car, always face out (facing downhill) for quick exiting in case of fire (Forestry regulation).
  • Keep your keys with you at all times. An emergency evacuation may not allow time to return to your cabin.
  • Vegetarian meals may be requested. There are limited vegan & gluten-free options. If you have additional dietary restrictions, please arrange to bring your own food which may be stored as noted above.
  • There is no WiFi available for camper use.

WHAT TO PACK FOR THE WEEKEND

You Must Bring:

  • Sleeping bag or sheets, blanket & pillow. Mattresses are vinyl covered to keep them sanitary. No bedding is provided.
  • Towels and toiletries (not provided by camp).
  • Flashlight.
  • Swimsuit, if you plan to use t hot tub.
  • Layers of clothes for cool mornings and evenings.
  • Earplugs, if you are a light sleeper! < < < < < < < <

You Should Bring:

  • Cash for raffle .
  • Alarm clock.
  • Sun-block.
  • Hiking shoes & clothes.
  • Water bottle (pure mountain water available).
  • Notebook, paper, pen.
  • Staff Appreciation: You may wish to make a gratuity donation for the camp staff, as this is not included in your camp fee. There is a designated "Tip Box" in Homet Lodge for this purpose. Gratuities are distributed among the kitchen, maintenance, lodge, housekeeping, and office staff.

Optional Things to Bring:

  • Drums & other musical instruments.
  • Camera (see note under rules).
  • Cell Phone. Cell signal via Verizon is good. Other carriers such as TMobile or AT&T are limited. There is no WIFI available for camper use. Consider unplugging for the weekend!
  • Journal
  • Telescope for star-gazing.
  • Stuffed animal.
  • Items for the Talent Show.

The Fall Mt Retreat is an ACA event held annually by the Orange County ACA Intergroup. This intergroup is registered with the ACA World Service Office. The Fall Mt Retreat is held in the Fall in the Angelus Oaks area of the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California. Members of other 12 Step programs are invited to attend.
