Overview

NO DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!

Absolute Beginner Freestyle is NOT a dance class.

It’s a safe, healing space for you to move your body.

How many places do we get to just be these days? When we’re not performing or thinking about what everyone else needs…

Or running the massive piles of to dos in our head, always feeling like we’re coming up short.

We spend the days in a flurry of activity, urgency driving us from task to task until we get home and the bottom falls out…

We’re zonked. All we can do is shrimp on the couch and doom scroll until our eyes are too tired to stay open.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

There’s another way.

Somatic dance healing isn’t just fun in the moment- it changes your nervous system on a physiological level.

The more you practice, the easier it is to hold boundaries during the day, to say “No” to tasks that aren’t yours to hold…

To actually take your lunch break instead of rushing through lunch at your desk, some invisible Big Brother Boss urging you to do more, more, more.

You start to actually look forward to getting home because work isn’t the only place you feel validated anymore.

When you come home, it feels safe.

You’re not looking over your shoulder, trying to distract yourself for those few lonely hours. Trying to hang in until you’re finally asleep…

Instead- you walk in the door, and take a deep sigh of relief. You put down your bag, slip off your shoes, and take a deep inhale of the flowers you bought yourself this week…

Even though your place isn’t perfect, you’re just happy to be here.

You put on a playlist and slowly start making dinner. Nothing fancy but something delicious that also makes you feel good…

Maybe it’s as simple as a frozen pizza with some fruit on the side.

While you’re preparing it, an absolute bop comes up on your playlist… without judging yourself, you let your body move how it needs to…

Hips circle, arms start swaying some carrots back and forth, you find your feet stepping around the room…

And it’s fun. It’s freeing.

Moving how you want to move, how your body wants to move. Damn, when’s the last time you did this?!

Now that things are naturally more fun, more freeing- there’s less urgency. Your nights look totally different.

They’re restorative. And you didn’t have to muscle yourself into some 79-step “evening routine” to get there.

This is the power of somatic dance healing. The more you practice, the further the benefits spread.

I know because this was me. Through a combination of therapy & somatic dance, I went through this transformation myself.

As a therapist & somatic dance healer, I’ve seen this happen for clients over and over again.

This process works if you work it. Don’t know where to start?

We start February 25th.
