About this event

Did you know that the Evil Eye charm (usually represented as a blue eyeball bead) is actually called a Nazar? Or that if it breaks, it's done its job?

We're bringing back this popular workshop two times in 2024 ~ learn more about the lore of this symbol. Go back in time before all current mainline religions to understand the root of what’s now a fashion trend. After our exploration of the Evil Eye legend, craft your own bracelet charm to deflect naysayers and ill wishes. Charm can be made into a bracelet, for yourself, a loved one, your car, or workspace.

Workshop is led by Bohemian House artists Blue and Rissa from Moonflower Scythe.

For guests age 12 and up. Appropriate for all gender identities.

Parking is available/free on-street or in any of the Ellicott City lots. Please give yourself ample time to park and walk to the location at Bohemian House, 8320 Main St, Ellicott City, MD 21043.

Restrooms are available on-site.

Food and drinks are not included, however, Georgia Grace is across the street with coffee, tea, and baked goods with vegetarian and gluten-free options. There are many other dining options in Ellicott City as well. All guests are welcome, but may be best for those 14 and up ~ you know your child best.

Refunds are only available until 3 days before the event. At that time, all sales are final, as supplies will be purchased and kits assembled in advance. If you cannot attend for any reason after that time, please give your ticket to a friend.

The event would only be canceled in case of severe rain or storms. Please check your email associated with your Eventbrite account. Event is indoors and will go on in rain, however should Howard County determine rain or storms may be hazards, we will follow all regulations about shutting down the event for safety. If that is the case, the event will be rescheduled when the weather permits and you will get an EMAIL at the same email address you used to sign up for the event.
