Ejay is a Nigerian choreographer who specializes in Afrofunk - a dance genre that fuses Nigerian street styles with his way of moving. Aside from working with notable Afrobeats artists like Mr Pheelz , and Adekunle Gold, he staged the first full-hour Afro dance production, which brought the dance community together in its capacity. This class will be beginner-friendly and will teach Nigerian grooves, culminating in a short choreography at the end

Afrobeats Dance Boston

Dance classes will focus on Contemporary Afrobeats. These classes will have a focus and concentration in West African dance and music (particularly Ghana and Nigeria); however, as we have seen Afrobeats as a a genre radiates throughout Africa.

There will be weekly dance classes, and the program will include master classes and occasional guest professional dancers and choreographers.

Classes will involve learning technical skills and fundamental movement. The class focus will be on learning Afrobeats dance styles as we connect ourselves to the spirit of Africa, and the joy that comes from it. We will also develop and build core strength, stamina, rhythmic sensibility, and most importantly build community.
