Join us for a fun-filled day at the Little Rock Zoo to raise autism awareness/acceptance. Registration is FREE FOR ARKANSAS FAMILIES OF CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM, and is only $10.00 for AAROC supporters who may not have a family member with autism but who want to raise awareness and support AAROC. Each registered AAROC ZOO DAY participant receives (1) admission to the Little Rock Zoo on April 5th, 2025 and (2) tickets that can be used that day for a Little Rock Zoo train ride or for the carousel!

Vendor booths and t-shirt sponsorships are available. Interested vendors please contact Dianna at ddvarady@uark.edu (t-shirt sponsorship sales end March 7th, 2025).

If AAROC Zoo Day has to be cancelled or rescheduled we will notify you by email and text message (as a condition of your AAROC Zoo Day registration you must agree to receive text message updates), and we will post a notice on our website and social media no later than 8:00 p.m the day before the event.

The Arkansas Autism Resource & Outreach Center (AAROC) was established January 2008 as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The mission of the AAROC is to provide Hope, Direction & Support to families of individuals diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, and we fulfill our mission through the following activities:

Parental Support:

  • Family Fun Days to defer the cost for families to enjoy a day at 
  • Information and Referral Services to assist families with identifying available services, eligibility criteria, and necessary paperwork
  • Emotional Support by connecting families to other families in their community who have similar experiences and by providing caring staff who are available to talk through issues, or simply listen, when they need it
  • Technical Assistance by answering questions on a variety of topics including school issues, IEPS, Medicaid services, postsecondary options, behavioral challenges, etc.

Education and Training:

  • Seminars and conferences for parents, therapists, educators and health care professionals
  • A four-part series offered quarterly for parents whose children have been newly diagnosed

Awareness and Advocacy:

  • Various fundraising and awareness activities
  • Legislative Advocacy
  • Participation on the Legislative Task Force on Autism
