Come celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with the Maryland Innovation Center.
About this event
Calling all Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) businesses, come and join us for a resource session at the Maryland Innovation Center (MIC). You will learn more about what the MIC has to offer as well as resources from the Maryland Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs and the Small Business Development Center.
Speakers for the event include:
- Jimmy Rhee, Special Secretary of Small, Minority, & Women Business Affairs
- Brandon Mason, Business Consultant, Maryland Small Business Development Center
- Vance MacEwen, Entrepreneur In Residence, Maryland Innovation Center

- 9:00-9:10 AM | Arrival, call to order and introduce speakers and guests (Bob/Soo)
- 9:15-9:30 AM | Jimmy Rhee, Special Secretary of Small, Minority, & Women Business Affairs discusses state resources and programs; Present Governor's AAPI Heritage Month Proclamation
- 9:30-9:40 AM | Angela Cabellon, Chief Innovation Officer, and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer discuss innovation and introduce Jennifer Jones, Michelle Bailey-Hedgepath
- 9:40-10:00 AM | Jennifer Jones (Deputy Chief of Staff), Michelle Bailey-Hedgepath (Assistant Chief Administrative Officer) discuss business and procurement in Howard County
- 10:00-10:15 AM | Brandon Mason, Business Consultant, Maryland Small Business Development Center discusses SBDC and programs
- 10:15-10:30 AM | Vance MacEwen, Entrepreneur In Residence, Maryland Innovation Center introduces MIC
- 10:30-10:45 AM | Additional time for discussions, QA, meeting business resources if any
- 10:45-11:00 AM | A tour of the MIC
