Equitable grading practices can transform the K-12 school environment and successful implementation of grading principles that align with a student's academic ability can be instrumental in improving student learning and student emotional and social well-being.

This academy will give administrators the tools needed to empower their schools toward a systemic and uniform way in shaping educators' mindset through a multimodal perspective activities seeking to change individual thinking around grading practices.

Participants will bring their current school/district grading policy. Participants will be asked to bring samples of teacher classroom grading guidelines as it relates to participation and any other concepts that are not directly specified in the school/district grading policy.

Time will be dedicated to administrators analyzing current grading practices and recognizing the alignment or misalignment between equitable and non-bias grading systems, through reflective activities and conversations.

At the end of the academy, administrators will walk away with strategies and tools to engage their staff in conversations in order to increase their awareness of implementing equitable grading practices.

This workshop will be delivered virtually via Zoom. The link for connection information will be sent via email.

Your attendance is required for the duration of this workshop to receive credit.
