Learn about emerging technology for bicycles, scooters, and delivery robots and how Ann Arbor works to protect vulnerable road users on our shared roads, sidewalks, and paths. Meet the Panel:

Clark Haynes, CEO & Founder, Velo AI
Clark is a robotics expert with over two decades of experience developing cutting-edge autonomous vehicles and robotic systems. He has developed wall climbing robots with DARPA, traveled to Fukushima to study robotic disaster recovery, and tested robots running around the desert with the intelligence community. Clark led the Autonomy Prediction team at Uber’s autonomous vehicle division, as well as led the Carnegie Mellon software team that completed the DARPA Robotics Challenge. Since 2021, Clark has been utilizing autonomy tech to advance safe streets for all, including the commercial release of Copilot, a safety device designed specifically for urban bicyclists. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan.

Trevor Brydon, Transportation Program Manager, City of Ann Arbor
Trevor Brydon, AICP, is a planner on the Transportation Team at the City of Ann Arbor. He has over 15 years of experience in regional and local transportation planning in southeast Michigan. Trevor serves as a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Urban Freight

Committee and is a graduate of the Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning, University of Michigan.

Dan Champoux, GEKOT Inc.
Dan Champoux is the CEO and co-founder of GEKOT Robotics- a mobility tech company working to bring life saving active safety solutions to light vehicles such as bikes, scooters, and golf carts. Dan spent 25 years as an automotive control systems engineer before launching his venture. Dan claims that he has two superpowers: He's able to surround himself with really smart people, and he's really good at finding free resources! Dan has a strong passion for mentoring young engineers, or as he calls them, future problem solvers. In fact the technology behind GEKOT Robotics was inspired by a youth robotics competition invention.

Arnold Kadiu, Intermode
Arnold Kadiu is the Co-Founder and CEO of Intermode, a forward-thinking company specializing in last-mile delivery solutions with autonomous robots. With a strong foundation in computer science and a fervent passion for technological innovation, Arnold brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His leadership at Intermode is driven by a vision to revolutionize the logistics industry, as evidenced by the company's cutting-edge delivery robots designed to navigate urban environments seamlessly. Arnold's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotics have propelled Intermode to the forefront of the delivery automation sector.
