About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

This is a leisurely, fairly flat walk of 1.7 miles through the Elmwood district of Berkeley with its varied and handsome architecture (including works of A. Dodge Coplin, Julia Morgan, and other notable architects), tree-lined streets, and vibrant commercial corridor. Moreover, we will note where some famous (and infamous) people lived and other facets of the area’s history. The walk includes on College Avenue the historic theater (and nearby historic theater site) as well as the residential area to the west of College. On the level terrain we will take an easy pace with numerous stops.
