Remittance: A dining experience by Two Odd and An odd experience at SAVVY Contemporary, featuring chef Gufran Rathor and our founder, spatial designer and experience curator, Akshita Garud.
This intimate, three-course South Asian dining ritual is an exploration of remittance, translating the duality of selfless duty versus personal motive into a series of conscious exchanges. The journey begins with a course of forced intimacy and a communal grazing table that reflects the true cost of home. It progresses through a visceral communal feast featuring floor seating and a staggered role-swap, which forces every participant to embody both the duty of providing and the relief of receiving. The experience culminates in a final, complex bite, where an intimate shared exchange brings the bittersweet reality of duty and desire to an unforgettable close.
Our curated experiences revolve around the idea of artistically translating a theme into every aspect of the evening—the food, the décor, and the interactions. The goal of these experiences is always to shed some light on relevant topics in a creative manner, by providing a well-rounded and holistic experience as a creative studio, and by bringing people together.
We invite you to come with an open mind and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone to enjoy this curated experience.
