A Path to Peace: The Hopeful Hearts of North Korea
The Liberty in North Korea chapter at SMU is very excited about this year's annual paneling event! Through our collaboration with LiNK Headquarters, we are flying in three North Korean refugees from South Korea. All three of these women have moving stories and experiences to share, which coincide with our effort to bring awareness to the situation of the North Korean people. Please RSVP if you would like to attend. Tickets are free and light food will be served.

Panelist Bio:
Bella Ha is a second-year student at Ewha Womans University, majoring in Political Science and Diplomacy with a double major in North Korean Studies. Committed to legal advocacy, she envisions a future assisting those with legal challenges. As an advocacy fellow, Bella seeks to reshape perceptions about North Korea and engage others in meaningful discussion.

Lily Jo is a third-year at Korea University and president of Libertas, a society advocating for North Korean human rights. As an Advocacy Fellow, she focuses on highlighting human rights abuses against North Korean children and the resettlement challenges of North Korean defectors in South Korea. Her work aims to enhance awareness and understanding of these pressing issues.

Grace Kang, a Sungshin Women's University alumna with a degree in Nursing Science and former operating room nurse, is now the pioneering CEO of 'For Legacy,' an innovative online memorial service startup. Born in North Korea, Grace's journey of survival through defection has deeply influenced her mission. At 'For Legacy,' she focuses on commemorating the lives of North Korean defectors, drawing from her personal experiences of loss and identity struggle. As an Advocacy Fellow, Grace is dedicated to amplifying her voice for the betterment of those in North Korea. She is determined to enhance her public speaking abilities by engaging with Fortune 100 companies, universities, and government entities, fostering personal growth and building valuable connections.
